TEAM MIAMI LOOKS TO CARRY MONACO MOMENTUM INTO ANGOLA DEBUT

The team arrives in Africa with renewed confidence after securing its strongest result of the 2026 campaign. Third place in Monaco delivered a strong haul of points and marked a significant step forward for Team Miami, with Timmy Hansen and Rianna O’Meara-Hunt demonstrating the team’s growing competitiveness in the fourth round of the season.

The E1 Luanda GP will take place from 12-13 September at the Yacht Club of Luanda. Bringing the all-electric RaceBirds to one of Africa’s key maritime gateways marks E1’s first race in Southern Africa and another major milestone for the championship.

For Team Miami, the weekend represents both a new challenge and an opportunity to build on the momentum generated in Monaco. The squad currently sits seventh in the standings on 50 points, just 14 points away from a spot in the top five and 25 adrift of third place on the leaderboard.

The Luanda GP gets underway this Saturday with Qualifying before an action-packed Sunday of racing, and fans can follow the action via SuperSport, DAZN and the official E1 YouTube channel.

We want to be fighting for podiums consistently, and Luanda is the next opportunity to do that.”

Timmy Hansen said: “Monaco was an important result for the whole team and showed the progress we’ve been making. A podium is always a great feeling, but more importantly, it gave us confidence that we can fight at the front. Now we need to take that momentum into Luanda, adapt quickly to a completely new venue and show that we can be consistent at this level.”

Rianna O’Meara-Hunt said: “It’s exciting to be heading somewhere completely new and to be part of E1’s first race in Angola. Monaco gave us a huge boost as a team, and we’ve been able to take a lot from that weekend. The goal now is to keep building and make the most of every opportunity in Luanda. We know the field is incredibly competitive, so we’ll be pushing for another strong result.”
