E1 Team Miami, powered by MAGNUS, has arrived in Italy for Round 2 of the UIM E1 World Championship, as the series returns to one of the most iconic and demanding venues on the calendar - Lake Como.
Following the 2026 season-opener in Saudi Arabia, the Miami squad faces a very different challenge this week (24-25 April). The wide, high-speed layout in Jeddah gives way to the longest course of the season, framed by the mountains and historic villas of Como.
New Driver Line-Up
Lake Como marks the beginning of a new chapter for Team Miami. Joining the line-up for Round 2 is Rianna O’Meara-Hunt, who makes her debut with the team this week having taken on her first E1 event with Sierra Racing Club in Jeddah.
The New Zealand-born racer brings fresh energy and strong credentials, while her addition reflects Team Miami’s ambition to keep evolving in an increasingly competitive championship. A key focus across the weekend will be integrating Rianna quickly into the race environment and building confidence in the Miami RaceBird.
Building on Jeddah
The opening round in Jeddah underlined just how close the 2026 grid has become. With margins tighter than ever, success now comes down to execution across every session.
For Team Miami, the weekend provided valuable learning. While seventh place didn’t reflect the team’s full potential, it highlighted clear areas for improvement. Those lessons will be critical in Lake Como, where track position is everything and opportunities to recover are limited.
Returning to Lake Como
Lake Como is a venue where Team Miami has already demonstrated strong pace. In Season 1, the team secured an impressive third place in qualifying, putting themselves firmly in contention at the front of the field. However, a challenging Semi-Final ultimately compromised the overall result, with the team finishing seventh.
That experience - combining front-running speed with the reality of how quickly a race weekend can change - will shape the team’s approach as they return to Italy.
For Team Miami, Lake Como represents an opportunity to turn these lessons into tangible progress, to build momentum with a new driver line-up, and to demonstrate the team’s true potential as the 2026 season begins to take shape.
Steve Curtis, E1 Team Miami, powered by MAGNUS Team Principal, said: “We've been putting in the work since Jeddah. Everyone in the team has been doing their bit to get us into a stronger position for this week and I think we've made good progress over the past three months.”
Lake Como is one of the most demanding courses of the season, so this round is all about discipline and making the right decisions in every moment. This is where the strong teams will separate themselves from the pack and we'll be looking to make our mark in Qualifying tomorrow."
Timmy Hansen, E1 Team Miami, powered by MAGNUS pilot, said: “After Jeddah, we’ve had time to reflect and reset as a team. The margins are incredibly tight this year, so any small improvements we can achieve will make a big difference and we’re feeling good coming into this event. Como is a very different challenge, but it’s one where we know we can be competitive.”
Rianna O’Meara-Hunt, E1 Team Miami, powered by MAGNUS pilot, said: “I’m really excited to be joining the team at Lake Como. It’s an incredible venue, and I’m focused on learning quickly, building confidence in the RaceBird, and contributing as much as I can from the start.”
